An endorsement from citizen Bill Hughes.......... Charlie Counsil has received the endorsement of the sitting Mayor and 3 former Mayors. Ask yourself why? Shortly after Hurricane Charlie hot Punta Gorda, a grassroots citizens group called TEAM Punta Gorda was organized by Roger Kress. TEAM raised enough funds and matching funds to hire Jamie Carrera to develop the Citizens Master Plan and gift it to the City. Before any action could begin on the CMP, the City Council had to approve the project to be sure it fit within the City’s strategic plan. There were several sitting Council members who rejected out of hand acceptance of the CMP. You, the voters removed them from office by not re=electing them. By your actions you have elected a Council that understands the Citizen’s needs. The Council’s that have been elected since Hurricane Charlie have been a cohesive group, working to improve our quality of life, today and into the future. The Mayor’s endorsements are asking you the voters to continue to have the very best individuals sit on the dais and represent you!
