An online news article regarding Attraction Black Light Theatre / Attraction Látványszínház hivatalos oldala (Lee ~ Head Admin / Creator) (",) Shadow Dance Act ‘Attraction’ demonstrate the power of The Act Of Attraction! By Tamsen In Business If you are a fan of the TV show ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, you will have no doubt seen the Hungarian Act ‘Attraction’ bag the £250,000 first prize, last Saturday night, along with the opportunity to perform on The Royal Variety Show later this year. I have been watching this act with some interest after my Google alerts (set-up specifically for ‘The Act Of Attraction’ theactofattraction) began delivering news of their progress direct to my inbox on a daily basis! It led to me tune in to watch the show a couple of weeks ago and I, like many of the viewers was blown away with their unique and beautiful work. However, my interest wasn’t solely on the performances themselves. As fascinated as I was by this groups immense talent, what fascinated me more was what it must have taken that group of eight dancers to put those performances together, to deliver them with such precision each week and to come from failing to win both the German and Hungarian versions of the talent show to winning the hearts of the British people and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ – despite not being British! That’s not easy. It occurred to me after Saturday nights’ victory that this group have unknowingly applied the principles of The Act Of Attraction to create this successful outcome and that inspired me to write this blog! The Act Of Attraction is a success creation model which encompasses all aspects of our activity: VISION > MINDSET > BEHAVIOUR > PLAN. It shows you how to align your activity in order to create a desired outcome and it is the subject of my book: The Act Of Attraction In Business. VISION is about starting with the end in mind. It’s about knowing where you are going and why. Zoltan Scuzs, the leader of the Attraction is reported to have said “Our dream is to perform in front of the Royal Family” and it is clear to me from their winning performance that they had that vision right from the start. Not only did it shape their weekly performances, but it eventually translated into the winning performance itself which included a British flag and the group contorting themselves into the shapes of the British Isles, Winston Churchill and The Queen herself! In addition to their overall vision to win the show, each performance will have required a strong vision in order to create the visuals, and this is especially significant since it has been reported that until recently, Attraction have rehearsed in a tiny studio with only natural light to create their shadows. Of course, whilst a strong vision plays an essential part in creating successful outcomes, it on its own is not enough to achieve a desired outcome. You also need a MINDSET that means that you are conditioned for the success you want to create and by that I mean a mindset where your beliefs, thoughts and feelings are aligned with your vision. Attraction must have done some work on getting their beliefs, thoughts and feelings aligned with their vision, both as a collective and also as individuals with an essential role to play in the performances in order to pull them off as well as they did! In addition to being conditioned internally for success, it is also important to align our BEHAVIOUR with our vision. Behaviour is very simply the aspect of our activity that other people observe and remark on and for that reason, it plays an important role in the achievement of any desired outcome. These guys have demonstrated professionalism throughout their time on the show but in addition to delivering an artistic and expertly executed performance each week, they have also shown huge respect for the British public, even in the face of criticism from the British press for entering a British talent show. This shows behaviour that is very aligned with their vision to win. And as their act is so dependent on their ability to align their physical forms with both lighting and each other, Attractions’ need for strategic behavioural alignment is even more fundamental than most! Lastly, there’s PLAN, and Attraction simply must have had one of those! Zoltan says it takes between two and four weeks for the group to create one performance and this takes some planning, both in terms of the stories, the choreography and the set, and also in terms of rehearsal locations and times – especially considering that some of the members of the group are still at school! So, you see, The Act Attraction is living evidence of the importance of aligning activity to achieve a successful outcome. Never before have I seen such embodiment of The Act Of Attraction and I wish this very talented group of dancers every success as they set about creating an even bigger vision and again aligning their activity to achieve it – I have a feeling they are going to be around for some time to come.
