The Provincial Government of Eastern Samar has already passed a resolution declaring the province in State of Calamity. Because of this, Vice-Governor Picardal and Board Member Suyot will be interviewed by TV 5 and will be aired tonight. 2. Regarding the news about the networks being operational on Wednesday, it is NOT TRUE. There is no confirmation yet from both telecommunication networks. Although Smart network is working in Hernani to Guiuan to Lawaan. 3. ESAMELCO has already announced that they can fix their facilities in TWO WEEKS time. HOWEVER, there is no word yet from the National Grid Power Corp. as to when they will be able to fix their facilities. 4. ALL ROADS going to Arteche, to Catbalogan and to Tacloban ARE PASSABLE. 5. The Borongan City Airport is OPERATIONAL. 6. The weather in the province is good. VG Picardal is going to call me again later this evening around 9pm or 10pm to give the OFFICIAL report regarding CASUALTIES and DAMAGES in Borongan City. As of the time of call, he said that mayor Abunda has not released yet an official report as to the casualties in our city. Regarding updates from San Julian to Arteche, VG Picardal is not able to give me updates because his assigned post is in Borongan City only. He has not received any communication yet from Sec.
