An update of the ceasefire talks in Egypt. Israel has given in on certain parts of the closure of Gaza. We have agreed to certain measures to ease the blockade, but certainly not done away with it. We have not agreed or even considered the new harbour or international airport. Turkey has offered to run the port for us and to oversee that arms and the sorts will not be brought into Gaza. Israel has not even considered this offer. Hamas is threatening that if we do not agree to the terms they are setting, this will be the last ceasefire they will agree to. This is upsetting the Egyptian government and Hamas has not learnt that they need Egypt to get anything. Again, pride is playing a very big part of the talks. Israel is also considering making the fishing zone bigger for the Gazans. It seems that the talks are being held in an all or nothing atmosphere. There is a chance, because of this, that the talks could break down at the expiry of the current ceasefire.
