Ancient times doesnt mean the times that everything was perfect. 10-15 generations from now this very day will be considered ancient times. Does everything that is happening this very day seem as good?? Ill answer for you; No! So one can come to the conclusion that their was obviously the not so good qualities back in Sumerian, Egypt (Kemet), Greek, Mesopotamian, Babylon, Ethiopia, Roman etc etc... What does this mean, well it means that in this very hour we are dealing with issues from ancient times that hasnt been resolved or made better as of yet. It just keep cycling over from one generation to the next.
