And my friend ... John Howard...of The John Hampu Band...is a class of 67 graduate from Marlington High That year, he met Larry Middleton, and became the bass player for The DeTours. They performed at such memorable venues as Lake Placentia, Sunset Park, Chollies, LaNaves Aqua Club, The Romanian Hall and several high school sock hops...he played in nearly 20 different bands all over the world. Many of them brought honors and accolades, such as winning the Los Angeles County battle of the bands in 1968, or performing live at Clevelands Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.
