And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. (I Corinthians 13:13) Love is the light that creates vision. Vision brings hope and anticipation. Faith is the passion that drives you forward to attain your prize. If we grieve or quench the Holy Spirit (who is Light), we wont have vision. We wont have hope and our faith will be weak. An anemic Christian life. If we courageously obey the voice of God within us in the Holy Spirit, we will abide in His love and will have light to see what our crown of glory in Christ is. We will have hope and anticipation. And that creates the bold faith to press forward to attain the fullness - the beauty, the joy, the glory - Christ Himself - the Pearl of Great Price. Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind. (Philippians 3:12-16) So, let us obey the Word of God. Let us do His commandments that we may abide in His love. If we arent seeking Him, reading the word, we wont know what He wants us to do and we grieve Him and quench the Holy Spirit who is out Guide, our Comforter, our Eternal Life in Christ. There are different measures of Eternal Life. How much of Christ do you want?
