And now for the douchebag of the millennium story….. About a week ago one of my roommates brought a dog home that he found on the street, what appeared to be a Havanese mix of some sort, a little dog. Three days later he became so violently ill that he was barely able to move and fluids were coming out of both ends of his body. It turns out that he fed him bratwurst with onions and jalapeños, all of which are bad for dogs, onions being toxic because they cause a certain type of anemia. He waited almost 2 days to take him to the vet. Last night, he asked if my girlfriend and I were willing to take him because he didnt have the money to care for him properly, to which we eagerly agreed. We gave him some Pedialyte, took him on a walk to the park, and gave him a nice comfortable place to sleep. I went to bed at 2 am and set my alarm to check on him at 4:30 am. When I got up, he was lying there almost unable to move. I brought him up to my bed and gave him some more fluids. He died in my arms about an hour later, looking me straight in the eyes. I saw him take his last breath. So I went and knocked on my roommates door and informed him of what happened. He said, Wow thats heavy, Im sorry and some other stupid shit, went to take a piss, and went right back to bed. I buried him in our backyard not an hour ago. Long story short, he better watch his mouth around me for awhile, which he seems to have a problem doing in general. Dont get an animal if you dont know what youre doing. And if you want one, do some research first. They arent pets. They are companions, just like your children, friends, and significant other. R.I.P Angus. You were an adorable, sweet, spirited little dog. We were looking so forward to taking care of you and giving you a good life. Claudia and I will miss you incredibly.
