And today marked the end of my almost a year old fieldwork at MGM hospital. Its difficult to express how much it made me grow, both as a person and professionally, (plus its a very touchy issue) and so Im not even going there. Here is me sending to the universe immense gratitude for sending me to MGM, for sending me the clients I saw, for letting me have those individual and couple therapy sessions and well, yeah, even for all the testing I did :) Im not only far more confident of my abilities but I have also realised how much this kind of work means to me. More importantly, Im grateful for letting me have great fieldwork teammates, each of whom was always eager for doing good work and always available for listening when the going was tough, and for letting me have my favourite professor as my fieldwork supervisor. All the things I learnt in those ICs and in the tuk-tuk and train while discussing cases and interventions, and sharing proud moments and difficulties, are things no classroom teaching would have been able to give me. Life is not the same as it was, and I am not the same as I was, one year ago, thanks to fieldwork at MGM :) Looking forward to being placed in another set-up in next semester but I can already see how terribly Ill miss my hospital work... Humbled and at the same time ready to take on the world :D
