And verily in cattle (too) will ye find an instructive Sign. From what is within their bodies, between excretions and blood, We produce for your drink, milk, pure and agreeable to those who drink it. (16:66) In this particular verse is such a powerful lesson for you says Allah Subhanawatala. It is such an incredible Ayah because it makes you reflect on an animal you would hardly pay any attention to. In between filth and blood, He Allah Azza Wa jal, produces (clean) and pure drink for us. When you learn about how a cow makes milk and the entire process of it, you will be amazed that the entire process is described in just these two verses. Other than its direct implication of how amazingly a pure and healthy drink is produced between feces and blood, I understand there is so much more wisdom in this Ayah. This Ayah is such a relief in times of distress or in any difficulty. From within the most difficult situations He has the power to bring you out harmless without a scar. If you live in a society filled with all kinds of filth and shamelessness, He has the power to keep you pure and clean. This is the remarkable beauty of the Quran. It makes you think, reflect and look at things differently and derive lessons from it. And one Ayah or one sign always leads to another. After reflecting on this particular Ayah, I was reminded of these verses, “(Those) who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides and give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], “Our Lord, You have not created all of this without a purpose. Exalted is You [above such a thing]; then protect us from the punishment of the Fire.” (3:190-191
