And you may ask yourself - Well, how did I get here? Ive had that classic song by the Talking Heads in my own talking head all day today. Have you ever stopped to take a good look at your life, and think...how DID I get here?! How many of you are living the life you planned? According to Robert Burns the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry! Im not a planner by nature. As a kid, I never thought Id even live this long! I could never really see my life past 30 years old so I never bothered to plan....anything. I just kept living one day after the other, putting one foot in front of the other, and asking God to lead my steps. And now Im here. I would have never bet money on the fact that Id be a divorced mother of two sons, living in the same town I grew up in, peddling food for a living, and in an interracial relationship. But, you know what? I wouldnt have it any other way. God created this life for me, and its pretty sweet. Has it been an easy journey? Not at all. Has it been fun? Not always. Has it been interesting? Absolutely. But Ive got the best family a girl could ask for, Ive got great friends who have seen me though my hardest times, Ive got a job that provides, and Ive got someone who teaches me what love is every single day. What more could I ask for? I wouldnt have, and certainly couldnt have, planned it any other way!
