Anecdote 4...Idiot-savant. Over the past 4 seasons, I have observed that retired airline pilots often own large motorhomes or 5th wheels. To my way of thinking, if they can fly the big planes and park them in the locations they do, they are pretty sharp and I usually trust their ability with even a larger RV. In July, a rather large new 5th wheel rolled into the park for a week, piloted by a retired AA pilot. He and his wife were friends of some of our mutual friends at the park. Usually, these type vehicles are palatial. One of my favorite people fondly calls them, "motor-mansions", and rightly so. We noticed almost immediately that both the wife and retired pilot, daily made a trip to our public showers. We noticed this because they trekked thru the park donned their bathrobes and flip flops, usually about mid- day. Odd that if you had a beautifully decorated RV, with all the modern conveniences of home at your disposal, why the public shower house? So, I asked my mutual friend why these folks chose to use our shower/restroom facility some 50-60 yards away from where they were parked, as opposed to their own. My friend replied, "Someone told them, if they used the black/grey water tanks, they would fall off coach while they were driving down the highway...." I will really have to think twice before flying again.
