Anglophone democracies now regularly prosecute people for saying - TopicsExpress

Anglophone democracies now regularly prosecute people for saying the wrong thing, usually on grounds of putative insult to some minority group Im offended by Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish is such a derogatory concept. They should remove their mascot. Or, maybe, I should just calm down, realize that most mascots are just positive role models which are admirable, and realize that freedom of speech means having the right to be offended. It doesnt make sense to deliberately offend anyone, but it happens from time to time, and if were tolerant (and lord knows those who claim to be politically correct are so sure of their tolerance), we can be tolerant of intolerance. Time for democratic individuals to grow up and be, well, democratic in thought as opposed to using action to solve perceived problems.
