Animal welfare bureaucracy in action. In March 2014, farmer Ted Hopkins in Resele, Västernorrland County, Sweden, got a visit by animal welare officials of the Västernorrland county council. They measured the indoors area where his animals (mostly sheep) were kept, and it was just a little bit to small, maybe 50 cm or something insignificant like that. They ordered him to either improve the conditions, or to get rid of his animals. In April, 1 month later, the local authorities came back and noticed that he still had not get rid of the animals, and still kept them in the same barn. For this reason, the Västernorrland animal welfare officials ordered all of his animals to be killed to put them out of their misery. Also, because the law demands that livestock sold as meat has to be slaughtered at registered abattoirs with meat inspection etc, the meat could not be sold or consumed, it was all burnt. The people seen here are local animal control government employees. It was filmed by Ted Hopkins daughter Nathalie Hopkins at the farm. All of these animals were killed in the name of animal welfare bureaucracy, and all the meat was wasted and burnt by authorities cause it couldnt go through proper meat inspection, even though it was to 100% fully edible. Who was outraged and angered by this incident? Sure not the ARs, they, like the local county council authorities, said it was the farmers fault that these animals died cause he had not improved the conditions, which was very petty violations about a few cm too small areas etc. The people who were outraged by this was people like wild game hunters and farmers. https://youtube/watch?v=I5xI2CPvo4I
