Annie and I rode for awhile before coming upon the little ones - TopicsExpress

Annie and I rode for awhile before coming upon the little ones yesterday. They are still new... curious, playful, brave, and relatively blank canvases not yet scrawled on by humans. Ive noticed that often what we do to horses, we do to people. We use pressure and force and fear to get what we want out of each other and usually end up doing some damage along the way. It doesnt have to be that way, with horses or humans. These little ones are in the best of hands, belonging to a woman youll read about in the new For The Sender book coming out next month. Theyll learn to relate to people through trust, not coercion, and well be able to depend on them in almost any situation because of it. And theyll have their own issues, like we all do, but theyll learn to look to people for support when theyre uncertain, because theyve been started and handled with this trust born in love, not fear. Sometimes that love will be loud, sometimes quiet. Sometimes it will feel passive, sometimes firm. But it will always be there, behind every moment, instead of fear. We could learn something from that. A friend told me 2014 is the year of the horse. Just in time. ~ Alex Woodard Pre-order For the Sender: Love Is (Not a Feeling) here: amazon/exec/obidos/ASIN/1401941230/hayhousecom-20
