Annnddd... Heres exactly why lax to non-existent REGULATION of GMO companies is dangerous and not the act of genetic modification itself. The threat from such a product, combined with the profit motive, unhindered by effective regulation in the public (and ecological) interest makes for a dangerous, DANGEROUS cocktail indeed. We really CANNOT afford to be decimating beneficial species in our current state of ecological imbalance, and the possibility that greed and lack of oversight will bring such an occurrence is all too real.
