Another Grand Marshal nomination! I would like to nominate Ashley Sillcott for grand marshall. She is a 24 year old cystic fibrosis fighter who kicks butt in every way! My daughter Mady was diagnosed with CF when she was 6 weeks old and not too long after I went public with her diagnosis, Ashley reached out to me and has been a shoulder to lean on for five years now! The past four or five years she has rasied over $20,000 each year for the CF Foundation with her team Ashleys Army. In order to raise money she has organized restaurant nights (Reters, Martha and Marys), bar nights (Bill Batemans, we did a battle of the bartenders there), and fairs in the community. Ashley is well known by many people for her drive and determination to find a cure for CF. Ashley just celebrated her daughters first birthday this past weekend. This was a big deal because Ashley was near death in the hospital when she was pregnant with daughter. We all were so scared that she wasnt going to come out of the hospital but Ashley fought her butt off and 6 months later gave birth to a beautiful baby girl! There are five million reasons why Ashley should be the grand marshall! She is a true definition of a hometown hero and would be the best person I know to lead the parade!
