Another flaw in the human character is that everyone wants to build but no one wants to do maintenance. - Kurt Vonnegut....I saw this quote today and I realized how relevant it is, especially with my generation. When I first read this I just think of peoples obsession over being materialistic and how they fix things by just buying the new model. However, the juxtaposition of this quote and people as individuals makes you realize people are so bent on building unrealistic characters to please the people in, and/or they want, in their lives. When in reality people should be focussed on maintaining themselves and growing to be better and true to themselves. People are born so unique and majority lose this uniqueness to conform to a manufactured idea of life. So I challenge you before you start to build a career and a family look at yourself and ask have I spent the time maintaining my self and creating the best possible version to share with the world? I truly believe that if you focus on growing intellectually, emotionally, even physically, success will eventually follow you. True leaders, embrace them selves, know their flaws and better themselves before they guide others. So as you continue to move forward and build an empire make sure you fix leaks and patch holes along the way. If not, eventually that empire will fall and take you with it. Stay positive, stay genuine and stay driven, the world IS yours.
