Another great vintage H.S.P.V.A. Jazz recording from our friend Doc Morgan: TO: Friends/family of Bob Morgan: After a rather lengthy summer hiatus, I am back uploading vintage HSPVA recordings to you-tube, and am proud to share with you a link for our 85 album, Eye of the Hurricane. *Two* guest artists are featured: Marvin Stamm (tracks 2 & 6) and Lou Marini (track 4). Among many student highlights, I would like to applaud Jason Goudeaus trombone solos. Jason, a long-time resident of Kansas City (sorry about the Royals, Jason!), was chosen as Honorable Mention for Best High School Jazz Soloist in Down Beat magazines student recording competition, 1986, based on his solos on this album: https://youtube/playlist?list=PLnY47nEvUUf3344KSa4Gtmf4UNxmFvkHD This was the band that played for four consecutive days/nights at George Weins Grande Parade du Jazz in Nice, France (July, 1985), arrangements made by Mr. Wein himself (one of his assistants had heard us in Houston).
