Anyone else kinda disappointed with season 1 of RWBY? I know the finale is next week, and this season is mostly just introducing the characters and situations, but I thought RWBY was gonna be about, you know, team RWBY? So far, John of Arc and Pyra have both gotten a ton more development than either Blake or Yang. Hell, Blakes had almost no development at all this season, only some implied stuff about her being a former terrorist/activist or something, and her reading some presumably terrible smut. We dont even know for certain if her and Yang are really friends. Sure, they seem like they get along, but Im pretty sure theyve only ever had one real conversation, and that just consisted of Blake saying obvious things as they were happening. Wheres the chemistry? The back and forth, hilarious banter and jokes that made Red Vs Blue so much fun to watch even with the fairly terrible way it was animated. Heck, season 1 of RWBY hasnt even had that many cool fights, which is basically what we were promised. Theres more combat in the trailers leading up to the show than there is in the show itself! Yes, that fight against the bird and the giant scorpion was totally badass, but it was the only really good fight in the whole show to be honest. Anyway, Im kinda disappointed. Heres hoping now that theyve set everything up, season 2 wont be so quick to turn its attention to whats easily the shows least interesting character. John almost gets as much screen time is RWBY, and isnt even close to being half as cool or amusing.
