Anyone that knows Anya knows what a strong, willed independent child she is. She has gone through and dealt with more than most 6 year olds have. If she has formed an opinion about you or anything else it is not because of what I have told her. Over the last 6 years her father has wandered in and out of her life due to one thing or another. For almost 5 years she stood strong by him saying how much she loved her daddy. Over the course of the last year or more she slowly went from calling him daddy to Cory daddy to now just Cory. This past year she has not seen him and only spoken to him a handle full of times. Recently he called and she flat out told me I dont really want to talk to him but dont want to hurt his feelings. After some convincing she finally called him. He had told her he wanted her to sleepover and she just said um ok. After she hung up she said please dont make me stay the night with him. Im sure some people think that I have poisoned her against her father but truth be told he did this to himself. There are only so many times you can disappear from someones life whatever the circumstance may be before they have had enough. So before you start wagging that accusatory finger at me remember although she is a child she remembers who has been around constantly. Ian is who she refers to as dad and not because we told her to. She woke up one day a year and a half ago and asked him Can I call you dad?. We both at first told her no that Cory was her dad but again you know Anya her mind was made up. In such a short time he had proven to her that he was worthy of a title that clearly meant a lot to her. When she cries out for her daddy she is crying out for Ian. The one who cooks her dinner, makes her lunch, takes her on vacations, reads to her at night, helps with homework and nurses her when she is sick. So do Anya a huge favor and please dont insult her intelligence. She can not be easily manipulated. This is all your fault and no one elses.
