Anyone who knows me understands that while I am a member of UDC - TopicsExpress

Anyone who knows me understands that while I am a member of UDC (and the Union Veterans Ladies Auxiliary as well) and spent some of my growing up years in Appomattox, the American Civil War is not my strongest historical suit. So, tonight, on a tip from a cousin, I discovered a battle I have never heard of before, that of First and Second Kernstown. I did not even know it was in Virginia and had to look it up. Anyway, one of my gr-gr-gr grandfathers fought in that battle, in which the CSA was led by Stonewall Jackson. My ancestor, Pvt. William T. Adams, died in battle, March 23.1862. I found his name on the church website I explored this evening. He joined the church in 1850, when he was about 16 years old. Now I need to locate his army record. Trying to find out who were his parents, though by 1862 he was married to my gr-gr-gr grandmother. (They were probably cousins). https://facebook/pages/Kernstown-Battlefield-Association/220167168124270
