Apologies for the late report but been up to my neck in redoing - TopicsExpress

Apologies for the late report but been up to my neck in redoing website and paperwork, anyway onto last nights match at Kelling. For a change tonite we decided on teams of three all competing for a winning team takes all pot, teams were drawn with an independant witness in the shop in the wee small hours of the morning and with originally 29 booked in, the numbers slimmed down to 25, so one team would be fishing with 4 anglers although the lowest score from that team would be dropped making it fair for all involved. Speculation and excitement seemed to be the order of the day as everyone wanted to know who was fishing with who and if they would stand a chance, as with all NAC matches ya just never know whos going to be on the money so why worry. As it turned out everyone seemed very happy and eager to get on the beach in search of bass, hounds and dogs and whatever else the venue may throw at us. New member and experienced match angler Simon Roberts also joined us tonight but sadly could only compete against the Cromer crab industry with well into double figure sizeable crab, this was the case for many battling through the ferocious feeding of the local crab population, those that did manage were not rewarded with the hoped for bass, but with rockling, dabs and the odd flounder, young Daniel Brown worked hard for his team and was one of 3 who managed 3 fish each, a future star in the making perhaps. Danny Sayer was the man of the match managing to find a sizable dogfish which gave him 89 weight pts and that combined with Sean Wrights score was enough for their team to take the top spot. Some good angling from Jake Cooper who would have been 2nd overall if it has been an individual match showing that changing your mind-set and attitude can work wonders. All in all it was a good friendly match with some excellent banter and I think everyone enjoyed the change, well done to Andrew Turk for suggesting it, next weeks match is again at Kelling but please watch this space as we may change to a hound venue as more and more reports come in. On another note I would like to remind everyone Norfolk Angling Club is a very friendly and helpful club the ethos is for everyone to help each other and those that require assistance, so I would like to remind everyone that if a member is struggling with gear due to illness or other ailments please step up to the plate and help as one day you may need it. The teams and individual scores were as follows 1st: Seam Wright (30) - Ricky Nash (0) - Danny Sayer (89) total 119 giving each angler 30 league pts and £100 pay-out between them 2nd: Trevor Barnes (35) - Daniel Brown (jnr)(37) - Eamon Finch (14)- Leon Smith (41) total = 113 giving each angler 27 league pts 3rd: Jake Cooper (46) - Ally Barnes (0) - Dene Conway (12) total = 58 giving each angler 24 league pts 4th: Dean Gibson (38) - Mark Batson (0) - Richard Chapman (12) total = 50 giving each angler 21 league pts 5th: Shane Brown (30) - Neil Marshall (0) - Peter Hansell (12) total = 42 giving each angler 18 league pts 6th: Andrew Turk (30) - Bob O.(0) - Chris Palmer (0) total = 30 giving each angler 15 league pts 7th: Ben Barnes (0) - Kimberley Lawn (21) - Simon Roberts (0) total = 21 giving each angler 12 league pts 8th: Steve Smith (13) - Charlie Needham (0) - Iain Molloy (0) total = 13 giving each angler 9 league pts
