Apostle George created a doc. 5 hrs Grace - 2 Grace in Context Now it is time to do the actual work of putting the word GRACE in context so that we can live in its experiential reality as well as be fit for purpose labourers who minister in Grace and can preach, teach and function with Grace. On what Basis did Grace operate in the Old Testament? A careful study of the contexts in which Grace was cited in the Old Testament will reveal two broad bases. Both confirm the reality that Yahweh has always released Grace to humans in all dispensations. 1. Finding Favour with Yahweh or fellow people The first is the context of finding favour with Yahweh or people. From Genesis 6:8 to Esther 2:7, there are more than 25 references to Grace in the King James Version of the website Bible Gateway. One central thread running through all the 27 references is the concept of Grace as finding favour with Yahweh or with fellow humans who have something we need. Genesis 6:8 lays this solid foundation of how the remnant is able to live opposite lifestyles from their contemporary generation: they find grace in the sight of Yahweh. What this implies is that Noah’s walk and by extension, our walk with Yahweh is not a function of our individual ability or preferences, as it were. We are rather able to function in a way that pleases Yahweh our heavenly Father because He enabled us to find favour in His sight! 2. Gift freely given by Yahweh to people The second, equally awesome context of the word “Grace” is that of a GIFT freely given by Yahweh to people. This is articulated in 10 instances from Psalm 45:2 to Zechariah 12:10 Summary: Grace is un-merited favour from Yahweh! Looking at both contexts, we can see the wisdom in the definition of Grace as “Un-merited Favour”. In other words, Grace refers to the divine act of releasing to humanity acceptance, strength and capacity to accomplish tasks that are normally outside our range of ability. Come to think of it: Adam and Eve were really products of Grace and lived by Grace until the day they frustrated Grace by sinning against Yahweh Who is the Elohim (God) of all Grace. Please read Genesis chapters 2 and 3 to understand this profound insight. The Fullness of Grace is in and through Yahshua, Jesus. Having reviewed the Old Testament, it can be safely asserted that Grace pre-dated the Law. The reason is simple: Grace is one of the attributes of Elohim. He is, after all, the Elohim (God) of all Grace and sits upon The Throne of Grace! It was by Grace that Adam was created and given dominion. He never deserved or earned any of the awesome abilities. They were freely bestowed on Him by a Gracious Elohim. It was by Grace that Yahweh called Abraham out of the Ur of the Chaldeans, a land seeped in idolatry, witchcraft and all manner of evil. Grace found Abraham and kept Him. Even when he slipped, in the manner of Sarah and Abimelech on the one hand and the matter with Hagar on the other hand, Grace kept Him and his true heart was preserved. Even the channel through who the Law was given, Moses, was a product of Grace. It was by Grace that Moses was preserved as a baby. Grace ordered his steps through the heathen courts of Pharaoh and the wilderness. He who received the Law lived beyond the Law for scriptures bear witness that Moses had this testimony: the ways of Elohim were revealed to him as recorded in Psalm 103:7 (KJV) 7He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel. What preserved Israel through the wilderness was Grace of Elohim for they were truly a stiff necked people who just could not keep the Law! In spite of their murmurings, idolatrous relationships and thousand and one iniquities, Yahweh still loved Israel. Though their King and Prince of Life was rejected, despised and killed by the machinations of the wicked one working through their religious leaders, the Grace of Yahweh still preserves their election as His own peculiar people till today! Those who formulated the dangerous replacement theology did not understand Grace nor did they know Election. Having laid this foundation, it is now necessary to assert, and rightly so, that in the fullness of time, Elohim needed to reveal His Grace in the Person of the Only Begotten Son. Well before Adam was created, in the womb of time, Elohim knew that His human creation to whom so much Grace was bestowed would literally reject His appointed way of Grace and opt for the opposite principle which is that of works. As Revelations 13:8 records, the Lamb was slain before the foundation of the world! What this means is that well before time came into being, Elohim knew what would happen and made provisions to reconcile mankind back to Himself! That gracious provision was the bundle of Grace from heaven which was delivered in the form of a baby brought into being by a supernatural Intro Vitro process. Divinity was planted in the womb of humanity and the result was the peculiar personality who bestraddles history: Yahshua Ha Mashiach, Jesus the Messiah of Nazareth, very much Elohim and Very Man: Luke 1:30-38 (King James Version) 30And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. 31And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 32He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. 34Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?35And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. In Yahshua Jesus, Elohim was graciously revealed to mankind in a way that is difficult to comprehend with the natural mind! He was truly the epitome of Grace and express manifestation of Elohim: John 1:16,17 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. He came as the catalyst of Grace to exchange our sins for the righteousness of Elohim. This was necessary so that as the Lamb of Elohim, slain before the foundation of the world, He would carry away all our sins. John 1:29 (King James Version) 29The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. The plan of Elohim was to bring into being, through the new birth, new creations with the capacity to function beyond the realms of humanity! 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 (King James Version) 17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christs stead, be ye reconciled to God.21For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Revelation 13:8 (King James Version) 8And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Yahshua, Jesus came, not to set up a new religion, but to offer those who would believe and receive the incredulous story, the right of way to be sons of Elohim and thus receive back what Adam and Eve lost: that Elohim nature with the attendant capacity to exercise true dominion over all His creation! Hebrews 2:10-15 (King James Version) 10For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 11For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, 12Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. 13And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me. 14Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. The hidden mystery of the new creation in Yahshua is for Yahweh to repopulate the earth with humans imbued with His Grace to live and minister supernaturally! Paul captured this essence in Phil. 4:13: I can do All things through Christ who strengthens me. In Yahshua, Jesus, a perfect equilibrium came into being: Divinity became humanity so that humanity can function in a measure of Divinity. We are not ordinary beings, saints! A new generation of so-called Kingdom believers has been spawned by Satan whose chief purpose is to deny the divinity of Yahshua, Jesus and demean His central position as ONLLY link between humans and Yahweh, our heavenly Father .
