Appeal following alleged assault in Hoddesdon Police investigating an alleged assault in Hoddesdon are appealing for witnesses to come forward. The incident is said to have occurred around 10.20pm on Friday, March 21 outside the White Swan public house in Hoddesdon’s High Street where there was an altercation in the smoking area of the pub between a man and a woman. It is reported the woman had an unknown liquid sprayed in her face by the man, which caused a burning sensation on her skin and in her eyes. Assistant Investigator Louise Moon said: “This is a serious allegation, which we are investigating fully. We would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident to come forward if they saw two people arguing or anything else unusual or suspicious.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Assistant Investigator Moon via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101, citing crime reference K1/14/611. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111. A 19-year-old man from Hoddesdon has been arrested on suspicion of assault and has been released on police bail until April 14.
