Application in 2010, failed. Application in 2011, after MP appeal - TopicsExpress

Application in 2010, failed. Application in 2011, after MP appeal letter, approved. MP claims she does not know him personally (which is probably true). MP claims she had met him only once (evidence shows this might not be accurate). MP said she wrote appeal letter only after Mdm Chung requested her to. MPs should not be faulted for writing appeal letters. Indeed they do so all the time for all sorts of things. However, should MPs do their due diligence before writing appeals for PR applications? Should they not at least meet with the applicant first? (It appears MP Intan did not even meet Yang Yin to talk about his application at all, since she said she had only met him once at a cooking activity.) What sort of due diligence did MP Intan undertake before she wrote her appeal letter for Yang Yin?
