Applying your discipline to your health. Every day, you wake - TopicsExpress

Applying your discipline to your health. Every day, you wake up and you do things. Some things you have to do: you go to work, go to school, brush your teeth, take out the trash, walk the dog. Some things you want to do: read fashion magazines, hang out with friends, or go out to dinner. If youve been hesitant to make your health a priority, you may want to think about all of the things you apply your energy to, then try to understand what motivates you. Is it a habitual behavior that you dont even think about? Do you do it because of financial gain? To achieve the respect of your peers? Is it something that you feel so passionate about, so connected to, that you cant imagine NOT doing it? Whatever your biggest motivators are, try to apply those same principles to the idea of taking care of your health, of giving yourself the right nutrition, of integrating regular movement and training into your life. If responsibility motivates you, remember that it is your job to care for your health. If passion motivates you, remember how amazing it feels to sweat. And if financial gain motivates you, consider this: the cost of chronic illnesses caused by bad nutrition and lack of exercise is much steeper than a pair of sneakers, healthy groceries, and regular checkups with your doctor. You already have discipline! I know that because you feed yourself and dress yourself and get yourself from point A to point B. If you didnt have discipline, you wouldnt be reading this. Discipline isnt a foreign land that you need to discover. It is something that lives within you that you need to uncover. - the body book by Cameron Diaz. Check it out!!
