April 1 has a lot of significance to me. It was the day I moved to NYC 83 years ago. It was the day I started my current job a year ago. All of you know that April is also my anniversary month with Insomnia. We grow stronger together every year. I mentioned it to someone in a Barcelona store selling herbals purportedly for sleep: Salesperson: You have had 21 years of insomnia? Me: Yes. We are so close, we count as conjoined twins. Salesperson: Have you ever tried soft music to help relax you before bed. Me: Nope, never. Music? Relaxation? Wow, this is the first Im hearing of such possible cure in 21 years. Wow, you have just cracked the code. I have the perfect soft music album, The Ethel Merman Disco Album. Ill let you know how it works. Right, in 21 years, someone is going to magically arrive on my doorstep with the cure for insomnia. Ill wait for that while you wait at home anticipating a package that will clear up your lifelong problem with stupidity.
