April 13: “Saving Creation” The Earth Ministry Team Spring—here at last—is a time to celebrate the renewal of life. In the UU religious diversity we cherish, today’s service honors Earth-centered spirituality; the Jewish festival of Passover, with its celebration of life re-born; and (arising from these older traditions) the Christian celebration of Palm Sunday and the Jewish Rabbi who became a symbol of Christian hope. The Earth Ministry Team leads this celebration of the beauty of life and the miracle of the abundance and hope of spring, highlighting our 7th Principle aspirations for re-creating and regenerating our Mother Earth. This service invites all of us to commit to clear action and a conscious love of this awesome creation that is our home—no matter what our worldview of how it all came to be. Gentle Rain will provide inspirational music. It is Our Earth Day and should be every day!. The social justice portion of the plate for this week will go to UUCWC’s Allie’s Garden to fund supplies needed for UUCWC volunteers to grow organic produce for our Food Ministry and HomeFront.
