Aquarium bits for sale! Yet another box sorted through, yielding a few bits of equipment: Various airline joining lengths plus a T joint and a flow valve - free to whoever wants them! Biorb Algae Cleaner (the little green egg-looking thing) Does what the name suggests, a magnetic algae cleaner. The bit that sits inside the aquarium floats, so if it comes unattached its easy to re-acquire it. £2, please! Resin Half-Log Ornament Im rather fond of this - its one of the more realistic-looking ornaments Ive managed to get a hold of - but since the council killed all of the non-loach inhabitants of my tank with a surprise chemical flush, I dont keep it in the tank; the loaches hide inside it all the time and we never see the little buggers! Its been scrubbed clean with clean water; no chemicals. Ill chuck in a free pack of bloodworm gel as well - a fish treat! £3, please! Bubble Tube (blue tube) Sticks to the bottom/side of the tank, an airline pump is attached to it and it releases lots of little bubbles, the intention being to help aerate the water as all of the little bubbles reach the surface of the water; gas exchange, and all that. It also creates a rather pretty bubble wall effect - this was originally a pack of two, but was replaced by a larger under-sand one. Comes with a single sucker anchor and a joiner, should you feel like adding it to an existing one. £1, please! Mini Bubble Filters A pair of airline-powered filters for tiny tanks, they were used in conjunction with an Interpet Mini electrical filter for a small tank before having the whole lot outright replaced with a larger-capacity Fluval U1 filter. The filter holders have been scrubbed top to toe in clean water (again, no chemicals), and have had fresh filters and 1.5m of fresh airline installed. They need to be soaked in a glass of aquarium water for half an hour and then theyre good to go. Be sure to dump the water from the glass after, dont put it back in the tank as it will clog up the filter intakes with carbon particles. Not suitable for larger tanks - they simply dont displace enough water for anything beyond the smallest tanks. They do work well as temporary additional filters, though; for clearing murky water or removing excess particles. £2 each, please!
