Arabela was admitted to Holtz today to begin all her pre-transplant work ups and testing. It was very overwhelming, with in an hour of being here she had 2 failed IV tries, with blood drawn, an Echo, an EKG, and numerous doctors and nurses have come in to meet/see her. Tomorrow she will have surgery to place a central line in her chest, which means no nursing after midnight... They need to try and place an IV again today, because she will be on IV nutrition from midnight. She actually took a paci for the first time! She was upset for the EKG, because they came right after her 2 failed IV attempts. She was upset for the echo too, but took the paci after she fell asleep and calmed down.
