Are we prepared: I have been around the Patriot community for a very long time. Now we talk about being prepared, but it always revolves around Economic Collapse, the Government going nuts and coming after our Guns, Social Breakdown. People talk about prepping, but what many in the patriot community talk about is tactical. Most patriot groups go out into the woods and mostly prepare for tactical, because it is fun running around doing military style maneuvers, and hey! who doesnt like to go out and do live fire training? Now lets really think about this, and look at our state, we have the potential for wild fires, tornados, Sever storms, Ice storms, hazardous Material spills and things that are more likely to effect us then the Government sending troops on the street to take our guns. Now dont get me wrong it is important to train for defensive tactics, and have the basic skills to protect yourself and family, and neighbors, but it is also important to be realistic about things. We take a different view. Our Regiment trains for all things and we are very big on prepping and being ready for the things that are more likely to effect us in a negative way. We know that we have some bad storm seasons, and we need to be prepared for wind damage, tornados, Hurricanes. We need to be able to deal with heat and cold problems, such as wildfires in summer, and ice storms in winter, and we have to prepare to be on our own for an extended period of time because Police, Fire, EMS, Utilities and other services will be effected. We also have a program where we train members to form Emergency Response Teams to give them the skills to assess damage and help when needed after making sure their families are safe. We will not find uniformed personnel wearing patches and ranks running around playing soldier, but you will find dedicated citizens who really want to make a difference in their community and help when needed. We are training our members to be leaders in their communities and neighborhood so when bad things happen our members can lead people and help them organize to deal with whatever situation they face. So I want all who are here to start thinking about really working on preparing for thins that we are more likely to face. In the comments section I will post a few links that can help new folks get started and more seasoned folks to think and make changes to their plans if needed. So enjoy the links, and start really getting stuff and your plans together.
