If, like me, you are a Texan, you can check your status, find polling places and fill out an application to take to your registrar here : sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/reqvr.shtml Did you move from a state with same day voter registration and find yourself in a state where that aint the case? In Texas, the deadline to register for Novembers election is October 6!! Do you plan on voting early or on Election Day? Early in-person voting runs from Monday, Oct. 20 thru Friday, Oct. 31 in Texas. NEW LAW ALERT: Dont forget your photo ID! In Texas, this now means one of the following: United States military identification card containing the person’s photograph United States citizenship certificate containing the person’s photograph United States passport Texas driver license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS Texas personal identification card issued by DPS Texas concealed handgun license issued by DPS oddly enough, NOT your College Photo ID. Seriously. So, here in Texas, we stand to disenfranchise 600,000 voters who lack proper ID because less than 5 potentially fraudulent votes were counted among the 13 million plus between 08 &10 elections in Texas (San Antonio Express-News for the numbers: mysanantonio/news/local_news/article/Cheating-rarely-seen-at-polls-3432801.php) It really says something about faith in your platform when your preferred political method is suppression of votes.
