Are you like many of us, busy on Sunday afternoons, mowing the grass, cleaning out the dust bunnies, or running errands? Why don’t you plan for a much-needed BREAK and plan to come on out for fun, friends, food and kids football on October 13th from 12-3 at the beautiful grounds of Unity Eastside off Buck Lake Rd. The “4th & Down to Make a Touchdown for a Kid” event will offer a beautiful setting to bring a chair, relax or play with your kids. How does a pickup flag football game for the kids sound? A bounce house for the little ones? Football toss, dance demonstration brought to us by @ARTS AFTERSCHOOL, karate demo and board-breaking by American Karate Studios, face painting, fitness stretch demo, music…and delicious BBQ presented by several area masters and food trucks. The highlight of the day will be a BBQ contest to be judged by Florida’s State Chef Justin, International Culinary Ambassador for the State of Florida, and winner of a Food Network Challenge. Chef Justin travels the sunshine state as part of the Department of Agriculture’s mission to help children learn how to each healthier. The winner of the most delicious BBQ will win an award, presented by Chef Justin! Finally, the day will conclude with a raffle drawing to win one of two prizes. The first is a gift basket filled with fun for the whole family - goodies and gift cards to locales around town, and the second, an FSU Coach Jimbo Fisher autographed football. This Friend-and-Funraiser was created as a gift to our community to meet one another, our beautiful grounds, and is free and open to the public. Invite your neighbors, co-worker, friends and family!
