Arena says leaders, supporters harassed ESAT News April 10, 2014 Arena Tigray for Democracy and Sovereignty (Arena), a party active in the Tigray region, Northern Ethiopia has stated that its senior leaders and supporters have been harassed. Abraha Desta, the Public Relations Head and Executive member of the Party, said the Party’s public meeting called in the Eastern Zone of Atsbi Wonberta has been held hugely suppressed by police. Althugh the local population warmly welcomed them, cadres of the Tigrean People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) have hampered them access to food, forced them to leave the beds they have paid for, and on the meeting day children have hit members of Arena by throwing stones. Abraha said TPLF is highly concerned by the growing strength of Arena and the number of people joining the Party has also increased.
