Armed robbery of service station – Punchbowl Police are appealing for information after the armed robbery of a service station at Punchbowl overnight. About 2.50am today (Wednesday 11 June 2014), a man used a hammer to smash the front glass doors of the Punchbowl Road business. The man approached the male console operator and demanded money. He sprayed an aerosol can towards the attendant and lit a cigarette lighter, resulting in a small flame igniting. The attendant was not injured and complied with the man’s request. The man left with an amount of cash and was last seen running towards Canterbury Road. Police from Campsie LAC - NSW Police Force attended the service station and established a crime scene. Detectives would now like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with inquiries. The man is described as being approximately 170-175cm tall, with a solid build. He was last seen wearing grey Nike shoes, dark-coloured pants, a blue and yellow fluorescent work shirt with white stripes down the side, and a black hooded jacket.
