Arnab calls Khap Panchayat, Indian Taliban, and sensationalizes - TopicsExpress

Arnab calls Khap Panchayat, Indian Taliban, and sensationalizes the AAPs support for these institutes. I would like to know if Arnab has ever lived in a village? I have not but I understand that the panchayat is the societal glue of the village. Its not that these institutes are apart from the village folks, like an outsider say British officer pre-independence who is pronouncing a judgement, seniors (respected people) from the same fabric of the village society. A village life is so close-knit that it would be impossible for the panchayat to has thoughts different from the rest of the residents. I believe there should be recourse available for those that feel cheated by the Panchayat decisions and protection for those seeking the recourse but by going against the panchayat, would these be accepted by the village folks?? So more than banning or name-calling the panchayat, we should look to reform them by increasing their exposure to world around them and the sense of morality and ethics accepted by the country as a whole. Our judicial system is also barbaric to the outside world, the hanging of even terrorists is looked down upon by some nations in the west. Are we not the part of the world as a whole which condemns capital punishment and yet our courts pronounce such verdicts? Kasab was hanged and a lot of us believe that he deserved much worse but is he at fault that he was brain washed and did not differentiate between right and wrong. He was just an executor of the sinister plan where scores of innocent lives were lost (these losses cannot be reversed by hanging of the culprit nor such incidents prevented by our extreme actions as the planners are still at large and claim victory in the whole episode). The judiciary is not brain washed and neither the decision taken in the spur of the moment then how can we approve these hangings but scream hoarse at Khap decisions?? We are people of double standards.
