Around 150 firefighters will be working on the 25 fires in the Clarence Valley area today, assisted by five fixed wing waterbombers and two waterbombing helicopters. McGills Road fire, Kremnos (Clarence Valley LGA) - Residents in the vicinity of Blackbutt Road, Sandstone Drive, Curlew Drive and McGills Road will see smoke, flame and embers during the day. Landline phones and power are currently down in most of the McGills Road area. Florda Drive fire, Wells Crossing (Clarence Valley LGA) - Residents in the vicinity of the fire at Wells Crossing will see a large number of firefighters working to establish containment lines and backburning. Across the State, more than 700 volunteers are working on 84 bush and grass fires.
