When to Schedule Your Child’s First Orthodontic Visit While orthodontic treatment can begin at any age, our Scottsdale & Glendale orthodontist recommends that children receive their first orthodontic evaluation at the age of eight. When you bring your 8-year old child in for his or her first orthodontic evaluation, do not expect to be bombarded with loads of treatment recommendations.
