Article 6: Did Allah create Berbers and Black Mauritanians as Arabs? Allah, the Almighty, created the Berber populations and scattered them all over North Africa, stretching down to Mauritania. Allah provided them with their own cultural identity and their own language. The majority of African Berbers are Muslims, not Arabs. Therefore, African Berbers should not be forced by any government-- be it Algerian, Moroccan, Tunisian, etc. -- to assimilate into Arab culture. These governments’ policies of forced assimilation of African Berbers into Arab culture are no different than policies of Mauritanian regimes in which, since 1966, these regimes have been trying to strip off Black Mauritanians of their own cultural identity and languages, forcing them to embrace Arab culture. It is Allah, the Almighty who created Black Mauritanians (all Muslims) and provided them with their own cultural identity and their own separate languages-- Fulani, Wolof, Soninke’, and Bambara. Even though these languages are recognized as “national languages” by the Mauritanian different regimes, they cannot be taught in schools. The Article 6 of the konstitution stipulates that "the national languages are Arabic, Poular, Soninke, and Wolof; the official language is Arabic." In the holy Qur’an, Allah says, “Let there be no compulsion in religion. Truth has been made clear from error. Whoever rejects false worship and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that never breaks. And Allah hears and knows all things.” (Al Baqarah, verse 256). If Allah, the Creator of the universe, forbids even a religion to be forced down on the throat of people, then who are the Algerian regimes, the Moroccan regimes, the Tunisian regimes, and the Mauritanian regimes to shove down Arabic culture and Arabic language on the throat African Berbers and Black Mauritanians— through a man -made konstitution?
