As ASMAC is preparing the final stages of the upcoming 2014 Golden - TopicsExpress

As ASMAC is preparing the final stages of the upcoming 2014 Golden Score Awards, I remember David Blumberg who was a great ASMAC board member, a great teacher, a wonderful mentor of many fine musicians and a terrific soul. David was a longtime friend and student of one of ASMACs oldest founding members, Lyle Spud Murphy who created the EIS (Equal Interval System) a way of comprehending musical ideas from zero to infinity (a simplistic reduction of a description). As Spud brought many of his students who became wonderful arrangers themselves onto the ASMAC board of directors, so too did David. One of the many that David introduced to ASMAC was this years recipient of the Golden Score for Arranging, Mr. Jorge Calandrelli. Were all so proud of Jorge and remember David and Spud while we also honor this amazing arranger for his outstanding achievements in arranging. (PS, if you didnt already know Jorge is equally well known as a composer, conductor and producer.) I am looking forward to a great night at the ASMAC Golden Score this coming September 28th. (There are only a few seats left, so if youve been on the fence, now is the time to get on board. And today is the final day for submitting a ad in the lovely tribute booklet that The Proper Image, via Scherr Lillico, is now making final preparations for the printer submission.)
