As I anticipated beforehand, Croatia come with an exciting team to Brazil, and will most likely be one of my teams throughout the tournament (Granted, the fact that there are many Bundesliga players help the case even before the kickoff). Anyways, its a shame such contest had to settle by a soft and shit penalty-kick decision - not to mention you would expect much better from Pletikosa if he gets a good hand on the swerving ball. It wasnt the greatest of matches for Lovren, and their left flank was a constant liability at the back, specially before the break (#2, weakest spot?). But the biggest flop goes to, without a doubt, Jelavic - who I remember was among my favorite strikers of all times catching him from the Match of the Day highlights a year ago or something. The return of the irresponsible and irreplaceable Mario Mandzukic will change things upfront, hopefully. I was so impressed with Luka Modric - though I cant say the same about the haircut, and with the likes of Rakitic and Kovacevic alongside him, I would expect more in the coming matches. My men Ivica Olic and Ivan Perisic were a constant threat, despite the former trying too much to impress at times. And I am sweating over the fear of Englishit teams will lineup for the signing of Perisic if he continues to sparkle in the WC. I hope hell stay put for the exciting project at Wolves, although I sure agree Europa League is the least he deserves at the moment. All in all, I am rooting for them at least for a knockout stage appearance by coming through the challenge of Cameroon and Mexico. And, this cliche prediction of Germany will lose to Brazil in the semis is just utter bullshit. All things aside, Nationalmanschaftt still should come out top against the hosts in the midfield battle.
