As I lay here awake, and not able to fall asleep for some reason I am thinking about 2014. This year has been crazy in good and bad ways. I performed my first funeral as an officer and got to salute my Grandmother as she was promoted to glory. My dad moved in with us and that has been great, I love having him here and knowing that he is not alone now that my grandmother who he took care of has passed. 2014 also brought me some serious depression and some thoughts that things might be better if I were not here any more. So now I take with me in to 2015 medicine that I thought I would never have to take because I am strong. This has definitely been a year of learning how to fully trust and rely on God. He has taken care of me and has put people around me that love me and take care of me. My wife is the greatest, she has loved me even when I was not myself and was not the best person to be around. She loved me enough that she never let me just get away with just wanting to give up. She prayed for me and always tells me that she loves me and that she is there no matter what. I honestly can say that I am here today because of God not giving up on me and her love. My family has been excellent, they have been beside me every step of the way. The support I get from friends and the people who pastor me has been amazing. God is alive and well and He is there to rely on, He will never leave us nor forsake us. I have learned that this year and I will take it with me forever. I am not back to myself yet but I know that God will be with me and age has put has put people in my life to walk through this with me. Heres to an awesome 2015!!!
