As I posted earlier, today was our 26 year wedding anniversary. Those of you who know us well know that Dana loves to walk. I, on the other hand, would rather have my wisdom teeth removed by a rusty set of pliers. However, being the romantic that I am (LOL), I decided for this anniversary that I would do something for Dana that she would really enjoy. I took her hiking to the Walls of Jericho outside of Scottsboro. If you have ever been, it is one of the most naturally beautiful scenes on the planet. Normally, I am a meticulous planner when it comes to this type of thing. I did not realize that to get to the Walls, you have to hike down a mountain 3.5 miles. Yes, 3.5 miles. One more time, 3.5 miles. On rugged terrain..... Again, when we got to the bottom of the canyon, it was breathtaking. Not quite as breathtaking as the 3.5 mile hike back UP the mountain to get back to the truck. So if you see me in the next couple of days with a slightly different gait, it is more than likely the result of my aching hip flexors, calves, knees, ankles, etc. But I wouldnt have wanted to spend the day with anyone else. Although we are both a bit (Dana) and totally (me)) exhausted, we had an absolutely wonderful anniversary. I do think I am paid up until our 50th! If I ever make the trip back to the Walls, it will entail me having some sort of parachute....... I will post some pictures as soon as I am rehydrated....
