As I respect Malala for her heroism in speaking against injustice and fighting for education, I disgrace all of the Western politicians and media that selectively use her story only because it involves Taliban. Needless to say, everyone, despite their religion, gender, or background, has the right to education, and Malala is the inspiration of many, including me, for fighting for this. My question is, why the media never talks about the many victims of Americas so-called war on terrorism in Pakistan, Afghanistan and other parts of the world? Would any Pakistani killed by American donors be given the same platform and coverage? Would an Iraqi prisoner who was tortured in AbuGhraib American prison be given this coverage of his story? Would a Palestinian from Gaza, or Jenin refugee camp, would be given these platforms? Of course not. These stories do not feed the interests of Western politicians.
