As I see all the miss information being spread around about the Lombard Jaycees it really makes me angry. But I have got to understand that most people really dont look at the facts all to much or dont understand whats going on. Instead of fighting everyone on facebook who is really being mean and hurt full I will just say some things that are on my mind. I have learned so much from being a jaycee. I used to be one of those haunted house kids running around like crazy trying to dodge anyone of authority so I didnt have to do carpets or e lights. I felt like I didnt belong or was appreciated. Until Heather L. Heim gave me an award for outstanding rookie. To this day Im not sure it was earned but it made me feel so special I was and will be forever grateful. I still felt like I didnt fit in though. I chaired some projects well, some amazing awful. But in the last 3 years I have learned so much more. Ive learned to take responsibility for my actions and words. Something I really didnt do before. IV learned that not every battle needs to be fought to win a war. IV learned how to compromise but more importantly iv learned how to follow. A skill I can assure you all I didnt have. Im not there yet but I am trying. With Jax TheAbrasive guidance I have learned more in 3 years then I have all the rest I have been a jaycee and I hope I can keep learning. Jeff TheExecutioner has really become a friend I never thought I would have. Im really very grateful for his friendship. Joanne Rinaldo thank you for being a mentor and being there for me. Kathy Crick thank you for the gas money when I couldnt afford it and all the guidance you have given me. Yvonne Agnello-Adams thank you for talking me off ledges...and ledges and ledges.Thank you most of all to Trishia Kivi. For EVERYTHING. What happend tonight most dont understand and fewer are happy about. But the membership unanimously decided on direction to follow and Im so proud of my peers. To the members of the Lombard Jaycees what you did tonight was hard. But dont forget why it was done. The real reasons. Not the ones made up by the haters. I took a look at the original cpg for the haunted house. The primary purpose had nothing to do with individual people and there needs to haunt and unwind. It didnt say anything about how it needed to be the scariest house in the world. It stated that the primary purpose was to get the kids of lombard off the streets and to teach them valuable skills. After 43 years I am proud to say that goal is still being met. This is not a rant. Just thoughts of someone that realized how hard this was on every member that cast that yes vote tonight. It sure as hell was was hard on me. Im gonna go kiss my son and count my blessings. The Lombard Commonwealth has a haunted house to open tomorrow and its been hell of week....
