As I sit here in my car...on break...I cant help but think about what happened on this most horrific day 13 years ago. In addition to the civilians murdered in the towers, we lost many good men and women on that day whose only purpose that particular day was to help. That being said I would like to say thank you to all of my fireman friends such as Bobby Ryan...Mark Hailstorm...Ralph Negron. Whether still on the job or not...thank you. I would like to thank those who ran towards danger on that day only to never return and to those we have lost since due to illness brought on by that terrible day...such as Lt. Robert Hess...husband of a grammar school friend Patricia Murphy Hess...and countless others. Thank you to my NYPD friends and to my EMT friends and to thousands of others who helped not only on that day but during the long grueling months and years thar followed. I know I am missing many many others but I think by bow you get the point. God bless us all! Finally...not a day goes by that I think of this and am forever grateful that my little sister Lisa Andolfo...who was in one of the towers that day had enough sense about her to get out before the inevitable occurred.
