As I sit here pouring through donations for sweet Sage today, Im reminded of all of the good that humans are still capable of possessing and giving. Yes, it has been a rough 24 hours for Denise and Hannah. But, this is what they do. They are literally the rescue worlds guardian angels. Sage would have set in that shelter until her body finally gave out. Those pups did not develop as they should have with a normal pregnancy. They would have suffered a miserable death. Having said that, its time to pull up our boots and tighten the straps. There is a saying I learned a couple of years ago when a popular radio personality in the Atlanta market died suddenly, leaving his wife and two young daughters with out a husband and father. It actually goes back to WWII when England was at the center of attacks. Keep Calm and Carry On Yes, we need to grieve when life is lost too soon but we still have to carry on with life as it continues around us. This is what FFD does and Denise is right there leading the troups. Please, just take a moment to be thankful for the life you have in front of you and the people and animals that make it complete. Those of us who volunteer with FFD will carry on, not by forgetting the ones we lost but by becoming stronger as a result. There are plenty of others out there waiting for saviors like Denise and Hannah and they will be found and they will be a happy story. Your donations today have been extremely generous and we thank all of you for it.
