As I wrote what i wrote in the previous post I feel bad. Therein is the dilemma. Yes there is a war. Yes we have an enemy. This enemy is NOT RUSSIA. The enemy is a small circle of people who have managed to convince the mass that they are doing their best for them. This enemy is an organization of business and political interests who have managed to manipulate the information in such a distorted way that people simply do not know where to go and stick with what they have. ------------------------------------------------ The enemy has the worlds second largest nuclear force, second largest army and formidable raw materials might. ---------------------------------------------- I suspect there are no easy answers. However closing of the luxury that the high class of Russia enjoys seems to be a burden that should be imposed. This means no more business with Russia. Let them park their jets, let them get back into volgas as the parts supply dries up for Mercedes. More importantly impose different visa requirements and do not do it based on wealth. Use a much more careful metric. People need to be able to see the west. they need to learn what is possible. And most problematic of all let Ukraine prosper. Accelerate assistance and opening the borders. When millions of Ukrainians become more successful than their relatives in Russia the message will get through and either the enemy will adjust (which is my hope) or he will follow Yanukovitch. This path includes less sales of goods to Russia and more open borders with Russia and Ukraine. It includes task forces that evaluate the large investments in Europe of their Russian investors and making life a little less comfortable for especially those who support the current situation. The path also includes supplying Ukraine with arms. We can deny this just like the Russians do but the current metric makes no sense. I suspect faced with strength the enemy might pause and thousands of innocent foolish young people and civilians will live to see another day.... Russian and Ukrainian. We must accelerate leading by example and we must be open. This is a war of democracy (even flawed) against democracy (super managed). And it may just be a view of the future. If we do not pay attention.
