Disclaimer* I found these pics on the net. They belong to someone other than me. So, a bit of breed selection. You will notice the bird which I labeled A. The drumsticks are so short, theyre almost impossible to see. It reminds of the creeper gene, the one that makes Japanese bantams look the way they do.(and lethal if inherited from both parents!) Pictures B and C are wild-type India Blues with nice, long, athletic legs. Now, I daresay, there are few, if any captive India Blues in this hemisphere that exemplify the wild-type to this degree. However, in my submission, the dumpish look in picture A renders that bird ineligible as breeding stock, if it can be avoided. Ive seen them worse than this, where the crop area hangs so far down, it reminds me of the u-bend in a kitchen sink. Notice also how the facial feathering at the eye of bird A is conjoined to the feathers on the crown of the head, as opposed to the relatively thick gap of white facial skin on birds B and C.
